You attach it to the forestay with the "hanks" on the sail. Attach the jib halyard to the top end of the sail (the narrow pointy end) and attach the sheets to the "clew" of the sail (bottom back end of sail). Run the sheets back to the winches (sassy looking women) by the cockpit, same as a roller furling setup. Use the jib halyard to raise the sail when you're ready to use it.
