Notice which way the arrows point at two hours. That's why the typical recommendation ( not just mine) is to arrive 2 hours after low water.
Ok--guys do what you want. All I know is that I am always at the VZ bridge 1 hour before low tide. So if low is at 8am, I am at the VN Bridge at 7am. This puts me in Little Neck Harbor by 11:30am. I know this because I have done it many times. So start two hours later, I really don't care.
