Florida does not care what is on your transom. If the boat is CG documented then you do not have to put state numbers on it. The CG wants you to have name and home port on the transom, but they don't care what the home port is. That is to say, you can live in Maine, buy the boat in Maryland, keep it in Florida, and have the home port say "Sunol, Nebraska" as far as the CG is concerned.
