A 50-mile distance as the crow flies doesn't mean that the trip will be 50-miles as the boat sails. It might be worthwhile, if you have any friends that sail well, to have them take you out on the boat and have you help them move it. You'll learn a bit more about the boat, how to use, and maybe learn a bit about sailing.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
