Sticky PVC tubes have nothing to do with the acid.. PVC is simply a poor choice for longevity in the UV. There are thousands upon thousands of PVC boats that have never been touched with acids that still suffer from stickytubeitus.

Our 1998 Zodiac Cadet Fastroller got sticky in under two years and had never been touched with anything but soap, water and UV.
