I blew off sailing in 25kts in order to hang upside down over the knife edge of my engine hatch and install a bilge pump because my old one had given up the ghost and I had a minor flood on my hands.
Unfortunately the minor flood picked up the last couple of 'oops' the 'professional mechanic' the previous owner hired left behind while changing oil. I think I also found a jelly fish in the bilge but have no idea how it got there.

I pulled out at least 15 feet of various bits and strands of wire, some with butt connectors every 6 inches as previous owners apparently just added the new wire in.

When I was done I was too sore, twisted and frustrated to even consider installing the new over the companionway board I'd spent the previous day cutting out and shaping.

Yeah, retiring to live on the boat is going to be so restful.

Lessons learned are opportunities earned.
