Never heard of larboard being anything but the opposite of starboard. (And not used much, because it's too easy to confuse with the way starboard sounds. That's why Port is used instead of larboard.) We've always called the after port side the Port quarter, and the after starboard side the Starboard quarter. That's where the boat's Quarter Wave shows up. That's why bunks located there are called quarter berths.
