Buy the battens at a sail loft.

With regard to your second question, it sounds like you have a loose footed mainsail -- that is, there is no bolt rope fastening the foot of the sail to the boom. Tighten your outhaul until the maximum depth of the sail at the foot is about 15% of the length of the foot. This will the decrease excessive depth. To reduce the excessive depth in the middle of the sail increase mast bend by tightening your backstay. Tightening the halyard tension will pull some of the cloth forward towards the mast thereby reducing depth of the sail but avoid moving the point of maximum draft forward of 45-50% aft.
