No, the post was not Stainless. Having never been hit by lightning in 18 yrs of ownership of that boat, I really don't know if that grounding did any good.
I was just responding to a more general Hunter side of the question. I myself believe that a more comprehensive method be used to ground the boat than just the compression post to keel cable.
