While sailing is an integrel part of Annapolis, and I sail there/ near there frequently, it really isnt as integrel a part of the town as Newport, especially to its economy.

Annapolis is the state captial of Maryland, and one of the five capitals of the United States. It is a center of business and commerce and also has the naval academy and a tremendous amount of history. If all the sailboats left for Baltimore tomorrow Annapolis would survive easily.

Thats not to say it isnt a great sailing community and doesnt have one. But the dog is not wagged by the sailboaters tail in Annapolis
