Re: VHF AIS radios

I have an Simrad RS25 that is networked via Serial Connection and an ST10 Simnet Adapter, along with an NAIS300 for AIS B. I do have a USB connection that allows me to connect my laptop to the Chartplotters, via a USB to Serial adapter connected to another ST10 but have not really exploited it. It came with the boat. I'm not happy with my Simrad, the remote handset is basically useless because of poor gain on the mic. I will resolve it once the boat goes hard. In the meantime I use a portable Icom when at the helm. What a shame. I would consider Icom, I think they make great stuff. The concept of a remote handset is a good one, if it works.
