TefGel, LanoCote or anhydrous lanolin are all good choices to help prevent corrosion. If you've got bronze hardware, your best bet for fasteners is silicon bronze fasteners from Jamestown Distributors.

Don't use brass on the exterior of a boat... it will dezincify and then you're screwed.
