Oh thank God you started this thread.
I'm going through the same process. Upholstery is a no-brainer, but how the hell does one spruce up the bulkheads without ripping them out?

I have marine plywood bulkheads that have a faux wood veneer glued to them. It's essentially a photo of woodgrain on a label that was applied to the plywood. It's 40 years old, faded and looks terrible. I'm wondering if you have something similar?

One suggestion I received, was beadboard. Stain it and glue or tack it in place with finishing nails. That's one idea, but I'm still looking for others.
