We used double headsails for any dead downwind sailing if it was going to be more than a few hours, this was mid Atlantic
On the rope cutter front there are three distinct types of cutter to consider the scissor (spurs/gator/stripper) Many disc types serrated or not (prop protector is one) and shaver (quicKutter)
