Regarding costs, I forget where you said you are, but if you're anywhere near Elk Neck, try Hance's Point Yacht Club. It's a DIY marina. I was there when I looked at boats 2 years ago, and I liked it. It is inexpensive, and in a nice location, and according to the guy selling his boat, it was what he would miss most about owning a boat (not that he didn't love his S2).
