Ere, (sorry I thought you wanted it for the main).

For a boat like yours, I came up with a 40 size in my calculation, for the Genoa winch.

You can use the 44's, and there is nothing wrong with that except they will look too big , and they are heavier, much heavier. I'd still go with the 40's, as they are more scaled and lighter.

Also, you need to know that the existing thru deck holes might not be re-useable and you may need to drill new holes, as the winch base plate is different.

On installation, be very careful as there is a predetermined position for the winch, marked by the thrust gear.(it needs to be installed so that the gear is exactly where the sheet arrives from the Genoa traveler.

The finishes are only aesthetical. I like the Chrome ones for looks, but prefer the Aluminum ones for racing, so what I did is I bought the chrome winches and then I got a set of exterior drums, in aluminum that replace the chrome ones when we race.

I’d get the aluminum for your boat.
