Re: Things lost in the water

First A GPS, mainsheet took it off during an "accidental jibe" I wasn't driving.
But the best story was during a race and a tack when a crew member was driving and I was on the sheet when the primary winch came completely apart, drum, bearing, lock nut, tailing lead, everything and I fell on my ass. We immediately went back to the other tack. After settling in I looked at what happened (I thought the winch broke) I started gathering all the parts still on the boat and realized the lock nut had come off and I had all the parts to reassemble the winch. That has to be against some maritime law. I assembled the winch, and finished the race, in 1st.
