Re: CS36 vs Morgan 38x vs Pearson 36-2/365 sloop
Baotpoker, What do you find most commonly on the CS builds?
There may be some moist areas in the deck core but usually less than most other brands. they did have a couple of years where they had a problem with gelcoat that blistered but I have never seen any blister deeper than the gelcoat. They did something really stupid with the drain from the propane locker .... they 'T'd it into the cockpit drain hoses. then you will run ito the usual stuff of that era ... solid core copper AC conductors, lack of GFI.s , AC ground and DC negative not bonded. Usually small potatoes compared to their competition. What I like is the grid system that makes it very easy to determine if there have been significant repairs (grounding etc.) and the heavy FRP chainplate knees that never rot or promote corrosion on the plates.
I find that these boats also tend to be a little cleaner (inside) and better maintained because access is also better than most of their competition.
