Jeanneau Deck Salon 43

Dear Jerry.
Jeanneau launched DS 43 last year as a big brother to their DS 40.
For all practical purposes both of the boats are mainly design for the charter trade of the Caribbean and the Med.Their sail plans are so that, even handled by the novices they don''t generate a lot of loads on the mast and rigging.Meaning, they are not good performers at all, specially in the light airs of Long Island Sound sailing season.
Their interiors looks very inviting and open with virtually no sea berths and properly positioned hanholds.Cockpits are large, great for entertainment but not very good for performance sailing.Their sailing hardware are mediocre at their best.
However if you are not going to attempt long ocean passages in very rough weather and looking for a coastal sailor with sub par performance and a lot of creature conforts at the dock side, they might serve your purpose.
PS:Check out their owners web site there were a lot of complaints about leaking hatches.
Fair Winds.
