Sorry to hear of the bump, that is a confusing spot, with good water all around. The ledge is noted. While no detail on your plotter, it's still noted, but its clearer on the NOAA printed chart. They would expect traffic to thread the can and the island (red/right/return), or just go to the East of the island. Unfortunately, you were on the wrong side of the nav aid.

Active Captain has an obstruction warning that is helpful too. Perhaps you put it there.
