Glad to see that I''m not the only one in love with AGMs! I have two banks of Lifeline GPL-4Cs... Anyway, I think the Heart Charger/Inverter is a good choice because you never know when you''ll need AC on board. Plus, they seem to be pretty durable.
My uncles 3 month old boat had all navigation electronics zapped by a near miss of lightning, and while the computer,
Autopilot, etc. were out of commission, the Heart
Inverter/Charger soldiered on.
Just be sure to set the charge points right and to disable equalization (some chargers do this automatically)
