Re: ASA instructor certification?

Thanks David

The ASA and CYA standards are very similar. The one difference appears to be a separate catamaran standard, which I will need to secure. The charter company / sailing school is also a cat dealer.

Instructor styles can be quite different. I premise my basic level courses on the welcome I got my my first evaluator, "Welcome to the British Columbia hospitality industry." Firs and foremost the clients / students want as good time. At more advanced levels I am more rigid. But the standard is the standard and I modify what I teach and assess accordingly.
ISPA Yachtmaster Offshore Instructor Evaluator
Sail Canada Advanced Cruising Instructor
IYT Yachtmaster Coastal Instructor
ASA 201, 203, 204, 205, 206, 214
As I sail, I praise God, and care not. (Luke Foxe)
