Actually big business is neither republican nor democrat. It is only capitalist. big business, for instance, would love "Hilary Care" for a solution to the health care "crisis". Ford and GM would love for the feds to assume their burdensome benefit plans. Big business will side with whatever party brings them their "pork".
Small business, on the other hand, is reliably republican. Taxation issues affect them the most of perhaps all citizens. Changes in tax policy determine not only the profitability of their business but also whether they can afford to hire additional employees and expand their business. They also do not possess the legal and lobbying staff that big business has in house, to protect their individual interests.
