I definitely agree with rrbryce. Corian does scratch under normal use and sanding it is a messy affair. I would recommend using solid color formica. It is available in numerous colors, easy to work with, will take a lot of abuse and is relatively inexpensive. We have used the kind that is solid colored all the way through so that dings or scrapes that mar the surface don''t show.
BTW rrbryce, that is one nice looking Hinckley.
