The J-28 is a really neat boat. It is part of J-boats first cruising generation. They are reasonably fast and seaworthy, quite easy to handle and all round very good boats.

They are a balsa cored hull and should be carefully surveyed but they were quite well constructed (sturdier than the racing series). The later ones had good ventilation that came from a lot more operable ports than the earlier ones.

I think the J-28 would be an excellent boat for cruising in south Florida or "maybe a little further".

Good luck,
Jeff
