We've lived aboard in Seattle and San Diego and now have our boat in Galveston Bay.

Living aboard and general living in San Diego is great, but the sailing is actually quite boring. You have a long days sail to get to Catalina Island where it gets interesting.

In comparison the variety of sailing in Puget Sound / Salish Sea is nirvana.

If I could pick a place that is nice to live and a nice place to sail I would pick Bellingham, WA, Friday Harbor, WA, somewhere on Orcas Island, or Port Townsend, WA... Now to find a job in one of those places.
