I recently bought a new sail on ebay, (it was made by Skip Moorhouse and is diamond cut with radial corners using technora (black aramid) and mylar front sections, with tafida in wear areas) . It currently has #5 luff tape and piston hanks. I am considering adding a CDI FF2 Flexible
Furler, but it requires #6 luff tape. Has anyone ever had a sailmaker change out the luff tape and add a sunbrella cover. I'm curious as to the approximate costs and whether or not this type of sail would make a good
permanent, all-around head sail.
