I cannot help thinking, while reading the above "updates", that it is interesting that the various institutions named all seem to have "climate change" in their titles.
Now, if one were to be paging through the phone book, or any other book, and saw this one would assume that their focus is on change, and not necessarily the broader climate. Given the political nature of the debate, one would assume they had a point of view already. So the collection of "climate change research" merely involves researching what we already know. Me? I'm currently a sunlight and warmth researcher, although finding little success in my efforts. I am convinced that my research will bear fruit eventually, although any funding that could be sent my way, if not hastening that day, will certainly be appreciated and applied directly to my research vessel.
So, why wouldn't these institutions be merely named 'climate research'. I might actually get more than a paragraph into the article, if I were to perceive there to be any objectivity in the research involved.
The crisis continues....
