Re: Route from Maine to North Carolina

Good advice overall.
Point Judith usually has the cheapest fuel in the area, the harbor of refuge there is a decent anchorage.
The ride down the East River is fantastic. Keep an ear on ch 13 thru NY harbor.
Second good fuel stop is Atlantic Highands near Sandy Hook. Good anchorage there also.
N Jersey inlets are not ideal. Sandy Hook to Cape May is an easy overnight. Last Sept we went straight thru from Sandy Hook to Chesapeake City on the CnD canal, perfect timing to ride the tide all the way up the Delaware Bay.

Roughly speaking it should be 5 days from Onset to Atlantic Highands.
Weather permitting, 2 to 3 days to Ches Bay. 3 days down the Ches to Norfolk. Maybe 5 days to the Neuse. Plus 2 months to stop along the way!
