You can get TV and
Radio tuners for the Mac or PC, that are USB or Firewire-based. This way you could effectively use one as the heart of a ship-board entertainment center. However, it takes a fairly fast machine to handle video, television, digital photography, music, navigation and
radio, especially if you intend on editing video.
It also takes a fair amount of hard drive space, especially for video, digital music, and digital photographs.
I would highly recommend that you have a reasonable backup for the machine, if it is the core of the entertainment and navigation planning systems on the boat.
You can use either a small desktop or a laptop to do this nowadays. If you have specifc questions, let me know.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
