High strength line

I used 5/16 Endura braid to replace my worn out rusty lifelines on my Bristol 35. I researched on many web sites and talked with several other sailboat owners before deciding. I used 5/16 because it is stronger that the steel lines I was replacing. I used splicing nuts http://www.splicingnut.com/ to terminate the lines and hardware specially designed for line for the turnbuckles and pelican hooks from the West Marine catalog. The cost was about 2/3 or the cost of steel lines but the hardware will be reusable when replacing the endura braid after 3 years or so. After one year on the boat the line is in good shape. I like the way it looks, it seems as good at keeping me onboard, and was fairly easy to accomplish as a do it your self project.
