GUI,
I can dig it, however my time has passed to try out for a crew position on a craft of that sort.
Sailortjk1, understandable; come to San Diego. The maritime museum here sails the "Star of India" the last sailing East Iindiamen on Earth, once a year. I have met several youths who have taken crew positions on her and stood on the yardarms under sail and at the dock. There is nothing to say you cant do the same. Perhaps something could be arrainged on a short term basis (museums are always looking for some kind of support).
Mine was to dive off the bowsprit of a classic Schooner in a white sand anchorage. Done! John Aldens former personal Schooner The Malabar IX named "True Love" anchored off St. John in water so clear as defy the boundry of water to air. My she was yar. In the meantime I have other "fish" to fry.
