proposing to paint prop

I''ve just cleaned layers of antifouling and general gunk off my prop and managed to get it to shine pretty well.

I am now wondering whether or not to repaint the prop. The stuff I''ve used on my bootline says it can also be used for props.

While the prop was in its gunge-coated state the sacrificial anode - positioned about three feet away as the crow flies - still did its stuff. I thought they didn''t work unless the prop was polished?

Another puzzle: I was listening to the radio news while chipping at the prop with a blunt screwdriver and noticed I was causing interference. Can any of you scientific types explain why?

Thanks
