I removed the rudder on my ''72 T-30 about 15 yrs ago. As I recall, I had to remove the bronze shoe with some hammering, remove the collar in the cockpit, dig a hole, and carefully lower the rudder and shaft. Sharp raps with a 16-oz brass (or lead) hammer may work. Good luck great boat, we has ours for 18yrs. Curt Koster
