Pam...we had friends pull in here last Thursday and I know that offshore storm warnings were posted then which means 45 knots. As we entered the weekend the predictions got worse and on Sunday night, gusts to hurricane force were predicted for the Gulf Stream. That would have been too late for anyone out there but the Thursday warnings were enough for any prudent sailor to get started heading to port.

As to the boats. A 52' sailboat named Flying Colors hhad its' EPIRB go off and they are still searching for it but no signal now.
37-foot sailboat named Seaker was the one on Diamond Shoals
Sailboat Lou Pantai was found with injuries aboard but no desciption 200 miles out.
No details on the 3rd crew rescued yet bt they were 120 miles south OF HATTERAS
