I just installed cabin top
winches on my P30. I placed the
winches as far aft as possible. That position has two advantages. First, it enables me to crank while the dodger is up. Second, I was able to hide all fasterners between the walls in the bulkhead since I already had holes in the bulkhead for instruments and a
compass. This also eliminates any issues with the headliner. I backed the
winches with a 1/4 inch aluminum plate.
