Re: How do you feel about catamarans?

My philosophy is "Own small; rent big." Therefore I get all the sport sailing action I want close to home on my own small mono. However, when I go on a cruising vacation, I much prefer a cat for one reason: A charter fleet catamaran is WAY MORE total pleasure than a charter mono.

As for the way a boat looks, I can't understand why that is a consideration. I live the experience, not the gear. Anyway, prefer the looks of catamarans: naked or nearly naked women relaxing in repose, drinks and snacks handy, smiling faces of unquesy guests who've enjoyed a good sleep, unbruised shins and toes, easy swim access, etc. The best-looking-from-afar sailboats are, from my perspective, the least enjoyable for Florida/Caribbean/Bahamian cruising. I'm sure a transocean voyageur would have a different opinion.
