With a cutter rig, the larks head knot is the only way to go in my opinion. My jib has to clear a staysail stay when tacking and with the larks head knot I have no problems. As to slipping concerns I do not worry about it because at the end of the season when I remove the jib for storage the larks head knot becomes one of those "effin" knots that requires the use of a marlin spike to get it loose.
