It would really help if you said what kind of boat you have... if it is a masthead rig or fractional rig will affect the measurements...and your ability to fly the chute. Also, it would help if you said whether it is an asymetric or symmetric spinnaker... I am guessing asym, since you describe it as a cruising spin.
