That's a good question about sail area. With the spinnaker you would think it sufficient for downwind work and the Genoa is a 135 I believe. I think one of the biggest challenges would be tacking that Genny across the staysail furler. I reckon you'd turn through and tack the staysail while the wind pushes the Genoa to leward, then trim quickly once the leech clears. The Nordic 44's have a PHRF rating of 84 so they aren't slow. Yeah, that engine looks tiny for this boat.
