vixile,
we beat to bermuda in 25 knots for about 3 days . when we got to the dock we noticed that a wave took about 8 feet of our rub rail off along with 12 foot section of stainless cap.
when we left bermuda we had fine conditions both herb and weather routers inc said to turn around after a day so we did.
we did not get another window to leave so i left her in bermuda for a month.
looking at the surface, and wind wave
charts we made the right decision. seas were out of the north north west to north at about 35 knots average a beat at best, gusting higher.
seas in the stream were 13-16 feet.
i have gone offshore and encountered these and bigger seas and winds but i have never gone out knowing i will take a beating.
off to france next week to check out the progress of the new boat.
