Does the boat have an anchor locker?
If there is no anchor locker access from the deck many boats have virtually unused space immediately forward of vee berth. This can be modified to provide additional length in Vee Berth. Usually only one of the two people requires the extra length.
This may give you more flexibility in which boat you buy. I do belive that most berths in mid eighties were 6''2" or 6''3".
Just a thought.
