17.5/8 = 219% BUT, that is the foot measurement
You need to take the measurement from the 90* mark on the luff, to the clew, then do teh same math I did above for the foot.
It should be about 1.8* 8 = 14.4' or so. ASSUMING of course, the 8' J or mast ot headsstay number is correct. if not, then substitue that number in the "8" place in the equation.
If the LP is 17.5, then the should be 9.75' or theres abouts. ie 17.5/1.80
