Inflatable engine power
We are in the process of outfitting our new boat and attention now turns to choosing and powering the dink.
I am looking at several "lightly experienced" inflatables and want to be sure I buy one with adequate power.
My plan is to buy in the 8.6 to 9.5 ft range to insure adequate capacity for four adults.
I have a 2 yr old 8.6ft Zodiac in sight with a 5 hp motor. Is that sufficient to stay out of trouble or should I pass and look for more horsepower? We are often on a river that can run up to 4.5 knots. with an occasional wind to make life interesting.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
