Without knowing your boat make or the mounting of your
pump, it's hard to advise you. Are you in love with the electric
pump, or can you retrofit the mechanical
pump? Usually, access to this part would be from above...is that not possible here?
Regardless, you might wish to investigate "crowfoot" wrenches. They have been a huge help to me accessing engine bolts in tight corners.
