Once you get more sailing experience Joel, then things like this will resolve themselves like second nature.

Before buying my current boat, a ketch with non-selftailing winches and a 150% Genoa, I've always sailed with self-tailers. I typically singlehand every time we go out (wife likes to watch . . . but that's another story) and I thought I'd get myself in all sorts of trouble.

But after awhile tacking under full sail became a breeze. Timing is everything in life.
