My boat does not have a key either. It merely has a handle near the throttle that you pull out to cut the engine. But sometimes my wife has trouble pulling it out and I worry that she might have some trouble with it in a pinch.
Anyway, good news that everyone is well, the boat didn't sink and that there is insurance.
