HULL ssb hf 5150 radio

Hey dudes its been a while since I have played with ssb...last trip was a long one on a friends boat and they had an icom, pactor modem the works.

my boat came with what appears to be a rare model ssb but good brand

HULL
model 5150

there is an antenna coupler in the aft lazarette and there are insulators on the backstay so can rig that as an antenna...

my question is since I have eliminated my engine Im assuming that was the ground since I see no long legths of copper wire anywhere just a little behind the radio but its for the coupling to the antenna box

the system looked well installed(pics) to come

my question is does anybody have DIRECT experience with this brand of ssb radio...quirks regarding tuning...installation etc

I found a manual tha I downloaded and thats great but wanted real world advice specifics, regarding grounding methods...tuning...best antenna wire connection etc

hope to test it these next few weeks so any heads up would be great

also im mostly interested in using it for receiving...I have seen some good threads on using software on your laptop to decode some weatherfaxes using blackcat systems or jvcomm32 or stuff like that uisng a simple antenna connector and jacks but

im open to all suggestions regarding my particular radio

thanks
