I'm not familiar with the waters or weather on Lake Huron, (except what I've read and heard about in songs) but I've done some long distant, single handled sailing (from Sitka to Glacier Bay, and San Fransisco to Hawaii)). My two-cents: don't try for the 75 mile leg, if you're asking, it's too far. Always be tethered and think about getting an EPIRB. But most importantly, bring lots of snack food, lol, 'cause thats the only thing you'll have time to eat.
