Hull Indentification Number
My HIN # contains a wealth of information.
#1 the first 3 letters YCS = Yacht Constructors (the name of the boat builder), #2 the next 2 digits = the boat length (29''),
#3 the following three digits = the # of hull moldings to that point,
#4 and final 4 digits = the hull molding date.
Now keep in mind my boat is a custom built Cascade 29 and may be somewhat different than standard production boats. But, I thought it was very interesting when I found out what it all ment.
